Welcome to the
BALLYMENA & DISTRICT DISABILITY FORUM
Hi all, welcome to part of the Dunclug Partnership website. We first moved to Durlston House the Dunclug Partnership Headquarters in April 2007. The Ballymena Disability Forum was set up in April 2005 and in June 2007 the name was changed to The Ballymena & District Disability Forum because it was felt that this reflected our aims and objectives better. The Forum was set up because there was and still is a need to promote disability issues and to ensure that disability legislation was fully implemented within the borough. One of the main aims of the Forum is to improve communication and foster good relations between support groups, public and statutory bodies. The Forum has 4 main objectives and these can be summarised below.
Communication.
Access to services.
Access to the built enviroment.
Disability Awareness, including awareness of current disability legislation.
There is a varied mix of disabilites represented on the committee and we work hard within the borough to highlight common issues that affect all people with disabilites. For information and enquiries please email us at www.ballymenadisabilityforum@btinternet.com
