104 Dunclug Park will be hosting an open dayon 29 February when the Dunclug Youth Forum officially open their drop in centre.Photos above show some of the work that has been ongoing and the Dunclug Youth Forum are grateful to Lloyds T.S.B ,Awards For All Big Lottery and John Moore Foundation for their help support and funding.It is hoped through another application for funding to have a computer suite with up to six computers for educational purposes. the drop in centre will provide a base for youth of the area to participate in activities and a place where they can relax and socialise.

On 12 December Santa visited the Dunclug Community Centre and presented children with selection boxes .Charles Brett and Madeline Quigley from the Dunclug Resident’s association assisted Santa, and also present were principal Jim Brady and vice principal Cairn Killough from St.Brigid’s primary school who still believe in Santa

Saturday 17 December was the night that the Polish community in Dunclug came together with local residents to join in a Christmas dinner.
The venue was the Ballymena Bowling club and food was supplied by Gillian Wharry from Slemish Pantry. Photographs above show some of those who were in attendance.A Polish group entertained by singing some beautiful Chtistmas carols.This function was funded by Big lottery Awards For All and Dunclug Partnership are grateful to Big Lottery for such funding.

30 children escorted by adult volunteers spent the night of 20 December 2011 at the Belfast Waterfront where they were entertained to the pantomine Alladin.Photographs above show the party before departure and also before departure the children were treated to food.
Thanks to Paula Clarke who was the main organiser of the event but not forgetting all the other adults as in photograph above who so kindly gave of their time on a voluntary basis. This event was funded co-funded by Dunclug Partnership and the P.S.N.I.

Dunclug primary hosted a Christmas Nativity play entitled “We three kings” on 20 December 2011 and as photograph above showed the hall was full to capacity with standing room only.Early arriver was alderman P.J.McAvoy who was greeted by principal Richard Reid and Sharleen McFall and Browyn Rock. Dunclug Primary are to be congratulated for a fantastic performance.The children at the school are so enthusiastic and it shows when they put on productions like “We three kings”.This is a great tribute to Richard Reid and his hard working staff.weel done Dunclug Primary

Dunclug Partnership in conjunction with Action Cancer hosted a mens health day in the Ballymena North Centre on 7 December from 12.30 to 8.00 p.m.men traditionally are reluctant to go to get health checks but Action Cancer were very pleased with the numbers that turned up on the day.

At the management committee meeting of the Dunclug Partnership held on 24 August 2011 P.J McAvoy was elected as chairperson of the Dunclug Partnership and replaces Howard Bailey who is leaving Ballymena to work in Brazil for his employers Michelin Tyre Company.
