Dunclug re-imaging project commences
0 Comments Published by dunclugpartner January 28th, 2010 in DUNCLUG PARTNERSHIP, UncategorizedArt classes to enable two murals to be placed in Dunclug have been held involving members of the Dunclug Youth Forum and Dunclug Parents and Kids Together.The workshop is facilitated by Rosalind Lowery.
The murals are expected to be put in place April/May and will be a representation of participants work laser printed and produced in metal.
The project is funded through the Arts Council and Dunclug partnership is grateful for the funding.
David Herbison the Bard Of Dunclug 1800 -1880 was blind from age 3 but regained his sight inleft eye after 4 years.
He emigrated to Canada in 1827 but was shipwrecked on the St.Lawerence river and returned home to work as a weaver ; a local agent for a linen firm.He was a well known poet and a monument to the Bard of Dunclug was erected in 1883 and this stands in Ballymena Cemetary as photograph shows.

0 Comments Published by dunclugpartner January 28th, 2010 in DUNCLUG PARTNERSHIPThe Dunclug Youth Forum are currently engaged in a five week programme involving local youths in the design of a 3D art project which will be placed above the entrance door of the Dunclug Community Centre.
Photographs show local youth engaged in training with Lucy Turner (artist) Kevin McCrudden Chairman of the Youth Forum is also featured in photograph. the programme will be delivered on Tuesday and Friday nights from 6p.m to 8 p.m for the next five weeks. January 2010 and February 2010
Credit Union Schools Quiz

The winning schools will go forward to the regional heats, so happy quizzing and good luck to all schools taking part.
The annual Bee Safe Campaign will be held at the Ballymena North Business & Recreation Centre from Monday 25th January 2010 – Friday 29th January 2010. ILLEGAL DUMPING IN DUNCLUG INVITING RATS TO THRIVE.
0 Comments Published by dunclugpartner January 19th, 2010 in DUNCLUG PARTNERSHIP, RESIDENTS ASSOCIATIONThe photographs show the amount of illegal dumping that is occurring in the Dunclug Park area.The photographs show the area known as the black path that runs from the Cushendall Road up along the perimeter fence of the Ballymena North complex and eventually turns left to take you into Dunvale.Residents are causing major health problems and council can prosecute anyone who is guilty of illegal dumping.
Think of young children and the health of other residents.On 18 January a lady reported the sighting of really large rats as they roamed the vicinity of the rubbish.PLEASE ,PLEASE, PLEASE, STOP THIS PRACTICE.Residents are also dumping rubbish over the fence into the grounds of the Ballymena North Centre.
